Green Summit logoThe 2008 GreenSummit expands from its roots as a student organized event at Arizona State University (ASU) into the largest sustainability focused event in state history. With the support of APS, the Phoenix Business Journal, ASU's Global Institute of Sustainability and its School of Sustainability, and a multitude of professional associations, the event is on target to attract over 150 exhibitors and 10,000+ attendees. Exciting exhibitor showcases, educational sessions, networking events, a green industry career fair, and green building tours are being developed to make the GreenSummit a destination event for moving Arizona towards a more sustainable future. Wrigley Lecture Series: Dr. Jay Hakes

Dr. Jay Hakes, Director of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum and former head of the Energy Information Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy and professor of political science at the University of New Orleans will speak on A Declaration of Energy Independence: How Freedom from Foreign Oil Can Improve National Security, Our Economy, and the Environment. His recently published book by the same title discusses how America can become energy independent. This lecture is co-sponsored by the School of Public Affairs. Arizona Workshop on Renewable Energy
November 17-19, 2008

Location: Memorial Union, Arizona State University at the Tempe Campus

The scope of the workshop includes three focus areas – research, education and outreach. The exhibition space will be available for the innovators, companies and non-profit organizations, which have focus in renewable energy. The meeting will include plenary sessions in the mornings (17th - tutorial lectures, 18th - science & technology reviews, 19 th - external partnership) and parallel sessions, panel discussions and poster sessions (all three focus areas) in the afternoon and networking events in the evenings.
